Description

In the pursuit of reduced environmental impact, the development of advanced systems for cleaning and drying reusable plastic items has become crucial. Wexiödisk's RE-TURN system is specifically tailored for washing and drying reusable plastic items such as plates, glasses, cutlery, and food containers. All to decrease the demand for single-use plastics.

Like other Wexiödisk products, the RE-TURN system is designed in stainless steel to ensure durability and quality and to promote a circular economy.

The cycle time takes between 60 to 90 seconds. While one basket is washed a second one is being dried. This means that one cleaned and dried basket will be available every 60 to 90 second.

• In total, this system measures 3300 mm, but with different lengths and placements of the conveyor belts, RE-TURN can also be adapted for corner installations.

• The conveyor belt is 1600 mm, and at the input, the basin belt is 1100 mm.

• The wash basket is specially designed with a smooth grid cover to hold plastic items securely during washing and drying.

Benefits

Drying zones for efficient drying of plastic items.

A powerful fan blows hot air over the washed items. The drying zone is useful for items with low heat retention capacity, such as plastic trays and other reusable plastic items like cups, food containers, etc.

The RE-TURN system consists of a hood type dishwasher, a basin line, a drying zone and a conveyor belt. The drying zone is mounted on a conveyor belt. Wexiödisk and Light My Fire join forces at the Swedish political week "Almedalsveckan"

On January 1, 2024, laws regarding single-use items were tightened, a necessary measure to protect our environment.

During "Almedalsveckan" in Sweden, Wexiödisk and Light My Fire conducted a pilot project focused on reusing single-use containers. The project included a mobile washing and drying station, with our WD-6 hood-type dishwasher serving as the heart of the operation. Along with the drying unit, it ensured that plastic cutlery, cups, and plates were cleaned, dried, and ready for reuse.

Together with Light My Fire and RETAKE, we are reducing the need to purchase new single-use items, which lowers plastic waste and promotes a circular economy.

Today, a staggering 2 billion single-use containers are used and consumed annually, and that's just in Sweden.
