Installation of three trolley washers at the LVR Klinik in Bonn

Since being founded in 1882, the LVR-Klinik Bonn has become one of the largest health care providers in the region, with over 1600 employees, offering advanced medical care to several thousands of patients. 
With thousands of meals being prepared and served, the hospital is heavily reliant on the trolleys that transport meals to the wards and beds of the patients and ensuring that the trolleys are hygienically clean is paramount.

In order to ensure this effectively LVR-Klinik Bonn recently invested in not one, but three Wexiödisk trolley washers
(WD-18CW) to replace their existing models. Mr. Kleps, Kitchen Director at LVR-Klinik Bonn explains:

– The project trolley washer was started before my time at the LVR-Klinik Bonn but investing in Wexiödisk WD-18CW’s was a natural decision for LVR-Klinik Bonn. In terms of some of the key practical benefits of this unit, the WD-18CW uses just 4.5 m2 of floor space meaning valuable warewashing space is best utilised. Further to this, the WD-18CW can be placed in a way that forms a barrier between two rooms, thus creating one dirty area and one clean area. Also highly ergonomic, the WD-18CW can easily be operated by a single member of staff thanks to an automatic loading/unloading system. In terms of economic benefits, the WD-18CW uses just 6 liters of water per wash cycle, resulting in a very low consumption of electricity, water and chemicals.

In addition to the above benefits, the WD-18CW also boasts unique spinning technology – a system which truly impressed the team at LVR-Klinik Bonn due to the dual benefits of this system which not only ensures the highest level of hygiene by thoroughly cleaning even the hardest-to-reach areas of our trolleys, but also effectively dries trolleys by removing all water residues without applying heat.

After learning about the benefits of this model, LVR-Klinik Bonn then decided to make contact with their local Wexiödisk dealer, Rhima, whom finalised LVR-Klinik Bonn´s decision to purchase three WD-18CW’s.
